As expected, the views are breathtaking quite a theme in our roundup of some of the finest interior design of Scotland. Here in Cliff House on the Isle of Skye, a modern living space is pared back to pay tribute to the spectacular scenery beyond the large windows. I love how soft colors and sludge in textiles and furniture echo the steep terrain.

inside the Sheiling a stone cottage perched between the Crinan Canal and the sea in Ardrishaig, Argyll, had a very good start of the design head - spectacular views of the Loch Gilp to the Isle of Arran.
The architect behind the project opened the original Victorian villa with large glass panels to frame the beautiful scenery outside. The light wood floors and neutral walls create a transparent pale backdrop that allows the scene taken from nature. A flash of bright red in the chairs, offers a striking contrast with the blue outside

Many period properties Edinburgh have huge windows and high ceilings. An architectural luxury - but how do you create an internal system that will not be overshadowed by such a tragedy?
is a perfect example of exactly how to do it: large-scale custom fittings (this luxurious kitchen island can certainly hold its own), presentation window treatments, giant paintings of vibrant color and pockets to break the supersized space.
