Trend Report: Key Trends Spotted at Maison & Objet Design Fair 2014 - Maison & Objet is one of Europe's largest design exhibitions and a place wonderful that draw inspiration and glean future design trends. It's hard to pick favorites for a show that is packed with beautiful objects and creative design ideas - and trends can be fickle - but inevitably some ideas arise repeatedly and reveal the interior design management can take in 2015. 1 Exposed bulbs
bulbs have been treated as a thing of beauty in themselves at this year's show, with oversized bulbs, flexes color and detailed filaments all on display. In clusters or solo displayed as a simple statement, this discreet design staple food was the star of the show.

Houzzers are already ahead of this trend and there are some good examples out there of how to raise creatively humble bulb. Cables hot pink of these bulbs suspended, for example, make a strong statement in this urban room.

2 pastel colors
simple Scandinavian designs are always popular and there there was plenty of fresh, clean design Scandi on the screen, but this year there was also a generous pinch of pastels mixed with light wood and clean shapes. Painting in smooth pastel finishes soaked textiles dyed, soft colors made their presence felt calm.

the craze for copper, bronze and gold showed no signs of slowing down, with much warmth metals exposed to the House. items of everyday tableware to lighting were given a warm glow and gently polished small but precious objects glittered in most stands.

4 Playful design
Designers also raided the toybox and this year there were several models and fun light that referenced favorite childhood. The bright colors, primary, enormous poufs and furniture made from oversized playful Meccano all made an appearance.

a sense of fun is easy to introduce in using primary brights, fun graphics and a relaxation area. Strong blocks of bright colors are an instant shortcut to adding a note of optimism and humor to an inner otherwise adult.

5 upcycling Industrial
industrial elements and approach mild to upcycling also submitted to the House, with gritty textures, industrial practice and a sense of humor all on display. packing boxes were used to create stands and storage, and have been left in their unprocessed form as a provocative style statement.

metal locker practical storage style also received the star power, cabinets with utilities making a return, some with a lock and key to keeping secrets safe. Such storage has been given a chic update, however, with fairly delicate painted finishes and metallic details.
