Create calm
A handful of simple decorations can do for the Christmas display coolest. Make your own paperchains, hang one statement piece like these beautiful angel wings and stick with a palette of white and light neutral tones for a sense of peace, calm and tranquility.

Keep it natural
harness natural materials and organic nuances and work with your own decor. A simple ring of emerald green foliage makes for the most vivid and striking crown (especially hanging against a color block), while the oversized draped a lantern topped trunk creates a modern twist on the traditional Christmas tree .

Make bold and modern
If you live in a small apartment, and do not have space for a Christmas tree full, try this idea instead. Spray paint some branches in jet black, in a simple vase, small neck and draped with stars and baubles inky midnight for a striking look. It will also make for the most fabulous decor throughout the year.

Make your own wrapping paper
Although I love fat, of kitsch wrapping paper, I like this simple DIY idea is quite modern and tailored to boot. Cheap brown paper was decorated with white paint drops (very easy to do yourself), tied with long lengths of black satin ribbon and finished with a touch of ruby berries, rustic twine and even an old photograph. Because after all, a thoughtful gift wrapped says a lot.

stick to your own style
If you like, modern decor crisp for 51 weeks of the year, do not feel under pressure to break up the look with a flashy, color wrapped Christmas. Instead, stick to your design information and make seasonal decorations work for you. In a white ice background, this incredibly chic Christmas tree needs nothing more than a few strands of glittering pieces to create a room full of festive joy. Who needs tinsel and baubles when nature looks this good?

Take a Scandi approach
there is something festive oh-so around a Scandinavian look - and it is quite elegant and easy to remove dead, too. Use silver wood and slate tones and generously decorated with silver stars, pretty garlands of fairy lights and lots of Christmas spirit. (And if you hanker after a touch of color, a bar things bold purple will instantly warm.)
