Room this week: an artistic and eclectic space Living in London - In the following edited excerpt from his book "Creative Spaces" Geraldine James visit a creative townhouse in Streatham
"an interior designer training, Caitlin McCann worked as interior and textile retail purchaser. She loves beautiful things and fine fabrics, and has an incredible eye for detail. However, her husband, Bradley Ridge, a restaurant owner, is a passionate collector of art of the street and urban graphics. Nobody could have predicted this kind of home their extremely divergent tastes are created, except that it would be unique.
Caitlin Bradley made a house where their styles were fused with great integrity. It is warm, quiet and sensual, but with a sharp urban edge. For me it is very special when this kind of thing occurs, and a one-off product is a truly organic, non-stereotypical.
'The pair spent a long time looking for the right place to call home and finally found this period well in Streatham, south-west London. They both knew immediately that it was good for them - Bradley's restaurant, where they also met was in Streatham, after all -. and travel to a house started
