once the keys were officially handed over, the desire to make the apartment of their own leader Jen and Dan embarking on a complete overhaul of the entire space. Torque started with cooking - specifically the floor. They really wanted to introduce an industrial feel with a concrete floor, but after much research, realized it was a carefully slow and take far too long to complete - especially that they would live in space throughout the works!

so Dan went into full search mode and found a replacement with these decorative concrete tiles. After the floor had been decided and a medium was designed to get the tiles from Budapest to Dublin, Dan built a 3D model of the space on his laptop and designed the rest of their house in the new floor.

piece on the dining table is a cast of the vertebra of a sperm whale which was found off the coast of Cork. It was made by the Irish sculptor DR Dublin . The dining table came from the house of the family of Dan.

most of the furniture in the apartment was purchased at Francis Street in Dublin, which is renowned for its antique and second hand shops. This chair was the first big purchase of the couple after buying the apartment. Once they spotted this 1980 edition Habitat limited room, they knew they had to have and managed to haggle the price down.

the impressive collection of art of the couple has been amassed over the years. They met in college art where Jen studied sculpture and Dan made the fine arts. Even before they became a couple, they enjoyed similar designs, and bartered their artistic creations with each other on more than one occasion. This love of art grew and developed their relationship - a love that is evident as soon as you enter their home.

the two are passionate about cycling and climbing saddle is a tribute in some way to their favorite pastime. The seat is actually an old bicycle saddle Soviet army, which Dan comes on eBay. He bought it with the intention of using it on his bike, but after too many incidents involving its "wear pants off in the crotch area," he decided he was better suited as a work of art!

this Jimi Hendrix piece was gifted to Jen by a local art gallery, she worked. If you look closely, you can spot and artist Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood leaning on a guitar behind Hendrix.

much of the inspiration for Jen for his leather jacket has leather and animal taxidermy, so it is not surprising to find a number of pieces dotted around the apartment. This pheasant is his family home and belonged to his grandmother.

Jen fascination with animal skulls is evident throughout the apartment, creating a texturally rich space full of interesting quirks.

a large balcony off the living room provides ample space for plants and herbs, not to mention a fantastic place for a night of drinking during the summer wet Irish.

'This is both a big house and a brilliant party pad, said Jen. The open style means that people can easily move around the space.
